Why protesting after the Decision is important:
The Justice system's failure to indict Darren Wilson may or may not be one of the biggest slaps in the face to Black Life in Amerika. However, instead of feeling discouraged, and allowing them to defeat us, we must make a stand.
How is this stand taken?
We show them our multitude.
I am pretty sure people around the country and around the world who are protesting the Ferguson Decision's and its implications. They are tired of being ignored. Damn right COLORED lives matter and those who respond with "All lives matter", are a part of the problem.
When colored peoples are being systematically oppressed, and their blood is running through the streets with no consequence, it is clear that these lives are held in less regard than others. But by claiming all lives matter and marginalizing an already marginalized people, this "progressive" stand is further perpetuating the racism we are trying to eradicate. All lives matter is an attempt to shame colored people for being selfish and not caring about everyone else. Well who cares about us? All lives matter, undermines our struggle. There is no question of whether or not white lives matter. Generally, They are not condemned to the poverty, they are not being slapped in the face by a system they busted their asses to be a part of and yet are still neglected by.
They are fighting to end the system in which it is perfectly legal to allow murderers like Darren Wilson to be exonerated of even the notion of a crime. This system is political, economic, racially prejudiced and it manifests itself in every aspect of Black Life and Life on Earth.. PERIOD.
So how are we to fix this "system", as system has become the new evil word. Man has been replaced with system, but we are still calling these people in charge "them". And to that I retort, "Who the fuck is them? Where do they live?"
Them is us. We are the ones who don't look past the wool they pull over our eyes. WAKE UP BROTHERS AND SISTERS of the world! We have to demand more. "But we've been demanding"., so … we have to take it.
We've showed them our multitude. But what are we saying? Will we gather and talk shit, or will we gather and organize? I'll tell you right now: THEY are very organized. Everything, from the cracked concrete you walk on, to the music you listen to and how they make you feel ashamed about what you wear, how you speak and how you look, is a product of the massive, methodical, organization they implement to keep us down. Sisters and Brothers, the way we treat each other and the regard we hold each other in, is organized by THEM. In order to truly rebel, we must deny them everything:
Make each breath meaningful: Breath in and remember the Browns and Martins unnamed, and the ones that will follow them to the grave, if we do not take a stand.
We are standing up but not making a stand. We are marching but until our words, ideas, and demands can walk on their own, how are we to truly communicate?
Join the multitude,
Be present,
Find an organization you dig,
Figure it out .
